Glitter Money Bass on Ebay
« on: October 10, 2011, 05:02:30 PM »
Only thing original is the body:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Gibson-Money-Bass-One-of-a-kind-Look-/300608877058?pt=Guitar&hash=item45fdaf7202

The color does nothing for me, neither does the price!

I think the truss rod cover is trademarked by Gene Simmons.

That's true talent: taking a $1200 US made limited edition bass and making it look like a $200 import on closeout for an internet dealer.

Don't forget, the limited edition sales were so bad that Gibson finally dumped a bunch to non-dealers who liquidated them for $600 on eBay.

Seller's right, though, it is one-of-a-kind.  :puke:

I really don't like that specific bass!................. However I did play one these and it was very good all the way 'round, if I weren't so devoted to 'Birds I'd have one.

Yuck.
The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

Yesterday I didn't look past the paint job. They had a 2Tek installed and pulled the TB Plus in favor of Pitbulls without covers.  ???  That's not necessarily bad, but when you replace that much of the original bass, what's left is pretty much a Gibson version of a parts bass with a fancy paint job. And they think these mods increase the value?

At least they kept the tacky TRC!

What a disaster! Not a damn thing wrong with the stock pickups or bridge, and ANY factory color is better than that unicorn vomit-glo.  :P

With a moniker like Nokturnal we would not expect any real color appreciation.  Nachts sind alle Katzen grau.
