Something like 75 of these have been shipped to Europe and the US and only one has been damaged in shipping. Unfortunate, but that can happen with anything.

OTOH you don't need to have a reason to bow out. The project has taken a long time, sometimes you have to change your commitments.

The price going up

How much has the price gone up by? Why did the price increase?

Yeah that was the same question that popped up in my head when I saw Terr mentioning that. Who said the price has been raised?

Not sure what he means. I think the price they were quoted may be higher than the first run, but that's no surprise. AFAIK there haven't been any more increases.

The latest batch of righties are at a higher price point, but they are still an incredible deal in my book. For what you get (if you're a fan of that idiosyncratic model), they're still priced very fairly. I know some people may not want to wait, but I just want to throw it out there that the first run of righties took around two years to come to fruition and I don't know of anyone who was disappointed by what they got.

I think it is the lack of information flow that is causing the jitters. Personally I have no problem with a long lead time, but I have to budget my bass purchases fairly carefully, as I suspect most people do. Therefore knowing exactly how much it's going to cost and when payment is going to be due is important.

Well, as i said Roman told me the price would be 198€, Vat included, i think it's a very good price.
The problem is that i haven't got a reply for 2 month. I don't know what to say, maybe Rob could ask Roman to give me some info. At least he could just tell me he doesn't want to make the basses, at least it would be an answer.....  :-\

It has been common for Roman to go long stretches without contact, whether it was with Rob or those of us that bought directly from him when the first couple batches of birds were sold. I think we surmised that Bach Czech was a smaller outfit than we might have initially thought and our Thunderbirds were only one of many things he had on his plate. I doubt that has changed.

I think we figured that Roman and his business partner seem to be the whole company. BaCH may very well be only a two-man shop.

How much is that in US dollars?
How much was one in the first batch?
How much was one in the recent batch?
How much will it cost to upgrade pickups & so forth to get a Gibson quality bass?

Why am I even asking? I'm still out no matter what the answers are.
I have enuf basses. Betcha never heard anyone say that before. :D

Iome, you have been working hard to make this happen and I appreciate that. Don't worry about me because I'm still in on the deal.

Yes, only issue is that everybody has got the same mail from Roman when asking for a bass:

thank You for Your mail .
The project has been drawn the most easy way orginally – TH-1 left hand in one color i.e. transparent red.
TH-1 has only one PU . Unfortunately We have no free PU We could put it on the bass.
Can You accept it ?

Tks for Your reply .

Roman
BaCH Music , Czech

There's only one buyer who wanted a one PU version....it's been a great dissapointment for all, i'm sorry for that.
