Gibby site ,GOM!
« on: July 30, 2008, 06:02:33 AM »
I was sniffin around the site last night looking for some archive info(yeah ,like that is available) and found myself looking at the GOM . No bass of course, but I did  look at the reverse explorer.I found it much more interesting than the reverse V of the GOW's.( I still dont get that one, but it was popular). It caught my eye because of the Moderne  head stock. I can do without powder-coated copper pups. The reverse explorer would be an interesting bass project for Dr.B or Barklessdog should they have the need to get away from the traditional challenges. Its even chromeless Heir Kollector.

could this be next for Gibson product development......
It takes a very deep-rooted opinion to survive unexpressed

Glenn Tipton of Judas Priest has been playing what are basically reverse Explorers from Hamer for decades, he even says he came up with the idea. You get used to the look, it is not as hilarious as a flipped Flying V, I agree.

This other model you pictured will unfortunately cement Gibson's notoriety as the producer of neck-heavy basses!
