Now I can see why the Craigslist ad is being trolled. The lister is in Reading, PA but the seller on Reverb is Gear Emporium in Cincinnati, over 500 miles away.

The Reverb seller is probably an individual, joined May 2019, two listings and no feedback, but at least he has photos. Legit or not, my guess is that the bass is in his possession, and that the Craigslist lister is attempting a scam.

Sounds plausible - nice catch!

WOW! Wish I had a picture of that one for the book. :P Price is high, but it has three high-value options: Lefty; fiver; Turquoise. Rare combination and a lovely instrument!

Another one-off short scale 4030, this time in Bottle Green, offered through Ric Boutique for $3,199. BT, CB, toasters.

Two and a half months later it's still there, unsold.

Actually, I believe it sold within the first day, or even hour. Rickenbacker Farm is the keeper of it now. Weird that it is still up on the site

At least it says only one made and availability: out of stock

I had a blond moment and missed that.

A nice example of the set-neck 4000, built that way from sometime in 1972 through the early '80s. This chassis was common to the 4001S during that period as well.

1983 non-S 4003/8. $3,975 BIN

Bound body and neck, sharkfin inlays. Octave strings on top. Very unusual. I'm not sure I've seen another one like this.

1982 White 4001 w/checkerboard binding. BIN $3,862

Looks like a non-original TRC, way too large for the headstock.

I know I've never seen an 8 string quite like that one. Pretty cool!

That TRC on the white on is nasty looking.
