Hello All!
Well the "Who deserves a Tribute bass" topic got me thinking.......and as I haven't built a Fender style bass in a while.
The details...
Allparts body and neck, Allparts is sourcing their bodies from the US, the neck is still MIJ (and still very nice) the body I might add is very nice also and quite light weight, the bass weighs in at about 7 1/2 pounds.
Fender "original Precision bass pickups (a set of grey-bottoms would have been more correct) Fender/Schaller 70s' tuning machines and thumbrest.
Allparts vintage bridge (threaded saddles) the smooth saddles would have been correct but I like the nickel finish on the vintage style.
Mirrored acrylic pickguard from Dazbootman pickguards (highly recomended, Bryan (Boots) is a great guy to work with)
Minwax Polycrylic undercoat, Nitro lacquer topcoats.
Now some pics.....
I wish I was a better photog!

Very nice! I like the other one in the picture too! Black and maple look so cool together.

That's one cool looking bass. I have built a couple of basses in tribute to some of my fav players, it is alot of fun and rewarding I find, better than buying a sig model. Here is my tribute to Billy Sheehan, I used to go see him in Talas back when his bass had finish on it ! :o Right now there is a Dimarzio model one in the neck spot but one of these days I'll put a Gibby mudbucker in there. Nice and even the red string ends look good on it!!
Like the cream one even better.

That came out great! I always loved that black w/maple board combo.

Nice work as always, Scott.

Thanks everyone,
"Building" a Fender bass is fun, kind of like a model airplane kit, your skill is more in the paint and glue, not so much in the fabrication. Scott (GoT) really like the "Sheehan", make me think I might do a "Mel" when the '70s Jazz bass reissue come in at work...........hmmmmmm, where is that Mudbucker?
Thanks again all,
Scott

Thanks Dave ! I am dying to put a Muddie in my MIA J bass ! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/godofthunder59/img_0718.jpg)
