What about an IKEA bass?
« on: February 05, 2010, 01:41:14 AM »
I've seen this on the net http://www.zacharyguitars.com/070209pics.htm , the builder hate people who talkes instruments on forums, but i love the look of that body. Anyone got an idea of how it would sound with a good neck and electronics?

I like it! Ikea is always good (It's Dutch, like The Rolling Stones) and a P90 is always good..

If it's anything like Ikea furniture I wouldn't advise sitting on it if you weigh over 200 lbs ;D

I like that.

Reminds me of the "Ikea Hacker" blog.  Every once and a while there's something neat on there:

Zachary... lol, what a poseur.   You can tell by the looks of his guitars that they're shitty. I remember awhile back on the TDPRI that someone posted a link to a Tele-style guitar he did. Looked like the finish was done by a three year old.

Very cool idea IMO.  No opinion on execution...looks decent from the photos posted.

I don't mind the idea of creating stuff out of found objects (which can certainly be an art unto itself), but his commentary indicates he's pretty much a major asswipe.

No argument there!  Clearly one of those who looks down on everyone inferior to him - which means (in his exalted opinion) everyone.

Yep, I'd have to agree with your asswipe comment. Asswipe indeed.

As my grandfather used to say, if I could buy him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth, I'd be a rich man.
