Title: Fender American Performer Jazz Bass
Post by: Bubbalou88 on July 17, 2020, 12:16:40 AM
I just read the spec's on Fender's website. This is virtually the same as the 2011 Fender American Special Bass I had but with upgraded tuners, a different name, and an "upgraded" price.

That's a good looking bass. Not a bad price, though I think they should include a case rather than the bag.

The Am Performer series as a whole is just a continuation of the Am Special series. The Tele has has different pickup and tuner names than my Am Special Tele but they're nearly identical. Of course the price is higher, that's what Fender does.

Do you happen to know if the neck on the Performer is the same a was on the American Special? Thin C with rolled edges.

I never had the opportunity to  try one of the basses. On the Tele, the necks feel the same.

Totally agree with you!
