Shorty T-Bird with shiny bits
« on: September 12, 2014, 07:45:44 AM »
This caught my eye in my eBay daily e-mail - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gibson-Thunderbird-Short-Scale-Bass-w-Seymour-Duncan-Custom-Shop-Alnico-Pickups-/271604119478?ssPageName=ADME:SS:SS:US:1120

Kinda sexy, but that awkward knob arrangement still baffles me.

Those oversize tuners are hilarious on it. Full metal chrome jacket. Did Ms Steed get her hands on it?

Good money after bad. The whole S.S. concept just doesn't work with a Thunderbird. It's more like a Pigeon.

Noooope!  Shortscales almost feel like doing it left handed, it still feels good and of course there's a happy ending - it's just not a familiar trip  ;D

I wouldn't want to be caught naked with that guitar. Horrible kitsch.

I recall liking it's tone well enough - It's just that - as it turns out, size matters   :gay:
