Mr. Big on the Radio! All Right NOW!
« on: March 19, 2010, 02:19:10 PM »
Heard FREE~Mr.Big on the RADIO finally for The First Time since it was released 40 years ago!!!!
As you all know, the only FREE song they ever seem to play on most stations is All Right Now which is as worn out as Stairway To Heaven now.
Mr. Big is the best example of Bass as Lead & Andy Fraser makes his SG EB3 SING so beautifully!
This is probly The Best Bass Playing Ever!
Sure made my night when I heard it on 100.3 fm 2 nights ago!!

My high school buds all went to see FREE 40 years ago & told me I missed a great show.
They said Andy took 3 steps forward & 3 back throughout the show!!!
Don't remember WHY I missed it but I've been kickin' myself ever since. Blimey & Crikey!! Dammit

I think over in the UK we have it worst, its like, if they ever play Black Sabbath its Paranoid.
Next to Geddy Lee, Andy is my all time fave bass player, such a fantastic feeling and so clever with those blues runs.
We play Mr Big and it always gets the crowds attention, love it.

I remember one of my sisters ex-husbands playing that for me when I was just starting out on bass. I was blown away! Spent some time working on that one. Very cool. I have it on my phone now (I don't own an iPod).

Love that song!

Fire and Water was one of the very first albums I got as a christmas gift, even as a youngster that was the track I liked best. Too bad I left the album in the rear window of my dad's Olds Delta '88........

This may surprise you, but I don't recall ever having heard that one before.

At least the camera guy got a few shots of the bass player - although none of them during his most interesting runs.

+1, just 4 guys, with so little, but add some soul and its massive, Paul's guitar is loud though.
