"So what is your collection of cheapos?"

Dean Edge-1 - basically my first bass - I don't ever see me getting rid of it
Fender MIM P
Fender MIM P-Special (P/J)
G&L L2k Trib (my personal favorite)
Yamaha RBX 270
ESP LTD B254
Danelectro '63 RI
SX '62 Jazz w/ Audere Pre
Gretsch Electromatic shortie
Turser 401 - '56 P-bass clone

They all get used, as my 15 year old has just started playing bass in a band with some friends. He can't seem to put down the LTD.

Uwe, you're around a lot again lately. This means the credit crunch is over?

Far from it. And it has actually flooded our litigation dept with work. Not enough to compensate what other transactional areas of the firm have lost though.

I'm relentlessly dead-serious and encircled by germanophobes who simply won't forgive me how we almost won the war.

See, this is how they get you. Uwe has posted pictures that were taken in his old basement - he is, without a doubt, hiding something (or someone) down there. ;D And here we thought they all went to South America...

Or we could just ask Mark to shorten his skirt a little more ;)

Ack, how nice are the necks on those Dean Edge basses! I have one I picked up for virtually nothing a few months back and it has been my most played bass over the last 5 shows. Very light and balanced and the neck is just a treat to play.  With a price of about US$550 for a new and apparently pro spec'd bass that feels like the one I have, I've seriously  considered buying a Dean Edge pro.

Digresion our specialty!

"Ack, how nice are the necks on those Dean Edge basses!"

Spot on. The neck rivals anything I've ever played, and the passive EMG's are truly awesome. It's just a really good all-around bass, and I think I paid like $150 with a HSC for it at Music-Go-Round. In my eyes, a completely underrated bass.

If you ever get a chance to play one of the ESP LTD's, pick one up and play it.  It's another real comfortable bass with an amazing neck.

I'm going to try and post a few pics of my basses.  I just sold the Samick RLB4 Hollowbody in the picture.

Cheers.

I didn't care for the looks of the sunburst Dano but that seafoam version kicks ass.

Welcome bro! One of the reasons this forum was created was to avoid the pifalls of other forums we'd all been on. So far so good.

Welcome to the back of the bus!  This is where all the real trouble happens on the way to school.

As for other forums?  I've been on 5 or 6 and now I just hang out here and on a builder's forum.  BTW, if you ever need advice on fixing, modding or building, the projects section here is a lot of fun too!  (Shameless plug over now).   ;D
I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!
