WANT a report!! Those intrigue me much more than they should!!!

Just received it yesterday afternoon so don't have a lot of time in on it yet but first impressions are very good. Neck is nice, close to my '68 EB-2. Whole bass is well-built and feels substantial, not flimsy. Factory roundwounds were too "roundwound-y" for me but a quick swap to GHS Precision Flatwounds did the trick. Good variety of tones. The string length behind the bridge allows for use of full-scale strings. One "quirk"; I always figured the pot on the bout was master tone, but master tone is the lower pot on the body, next to it is one of the volume pots, and the pot on the bout is the other volume. Weird. Finish is shiny and beautiful.
I dig it, rehearsal Thursday.

Sweet, congrats! Love the color, a double-cut Gretsch-style in brown always reminds me of Harrison's Ed Sullivan guitar, still the best looking Gretsch ever IMHO.
And definitely flats-worthy. I'd change the bridge to a Space Control type - the Höfner style unit looks a bit out of place.
In my '64 Gretsch the pot in the lower bout is master volume.

Our old friend, Ed putting one through its paces.
I was tempted by one of these on eBay last week but it got bid up further than I'm able to afford right now. That said though, I'd totally go for one of these! The one on eBay had an upgraded bridge that looked pretty slick. Nice lookin' bass.

Bought it inspite of Ed's "endorsement".

Ed seemed to like it, unless I missed something.
Cool bass at a reasonable price.

sounded fine to me . what don't you like about it, or you just don't like ed.

I absolutely LOVE the bass....

I loved the tone Ed got out of the neck pickup, both fingerstyle and with a pick.

Beautiful! Every time I see someone posting pics of an Eastwood Classic 4 I tell myself I need one too. But then I realise I don't really need one.
But I think these Eastwoods are just waiting for the right moment to strike ... ;)

The headstock on that Eastwood looks THIS close to the same as the headstock on my Epi Casady bass..where the Casady has a dip, the Eastwood has a bump.

Even more similar!

Has anyone else noticed that the Eastwood looks like a Fender Coronado done much better?
