Love it!  I kinda wish I hadn't sold the one I had, but money was tight.  Maybe I'll get another one some day.

That looks a lot more authentic than their other recent reissues.

I nearly bought a blue one myself a few months back but needed a new speaker. Looks great.

Purdy and classic in that fin. Luckily it has the knobs so the symetrical body will not confuse unsuspecting consumers to play it as a lefty ...  ;)

I like it! Congrats on joining the Dano Club. =)

How do the back of the Tuning Keys look? The front looks like they fit a lot better than the other reissues (At least mine anyway).

Congrats indeed!
You can adjust the truss rod without taking the neck off, finally! The '09s are the first Danos ever with this feature I believe. It looks great!

And strangely enuff, I just tweaked the bridge height and the action was great, didn't need to adjust the neck.

Dang, that's pretty good! Of course, now that trussrod adjustment is easy, you didn't have to do it... Is it a short or long scale?

Is this the new Longhorn "58" re-issue that Danelectro have been advertising for the past 6 months? I see them listed for $359.00 on the Danelectro site.

Sure looks like it. They're $349 at MF, Sam Ash and other online stores.

Yep, that's it, I paid $350 at a local "Mom and Pop"(sorry Bill) guitar shop here in Austin. I like that it's a "'58" as that's the year I was born!

I love the look of the new ones...

I've got two from the last run...lightweight workhorses that can cop almost any style

Cant resist the urge to give a plug for my favourite LongHorn player Neil Merryweather.

ohh, Thanks for the Tuner pic! :)
Mucho Appreciated. They are different, like guitar tuners (on my Dad's Acoustic Gibson).

I love the looks of this latest reissue.  I didn't even realize it was out until your post.  Nice pics too!

Just curious, but how does it (or does it?) compare to the playability and sound of your Jerry Jones Longhorns?  I heard a JJ played in a small club, and have had it on the brain ever since.

Well, the nice photos with a black background I "borrowed" from an ebay auction, so I can't take credit for those.
I've noticed two differences between it and my JJ 4-string. The neck on the Dano is deeper, fingerboard to back, than the JJ, and the JJ has a bit more bass to the tone, not dramatic but noticable side-by-side. Otherwise, the Dano felt just like what I'm used to.

Longhorn basses I own or have owned:
Hondo Longhorn 1985
Jerry Jones Longhorn Bass VI 1990
Jerry Jones Longhorn 1998
Jerry Jones Longhorn Bass VI 2001
Danelectro Longhorn 2009
