They weigh about five pounds , and with older strings you get a nice old school thump that slides right under the mix without taking up too much room . And they’re fun to play . But they were originally designed to be cheap into instruments , and they are what they are .
I was an older Pbass guy that had taken a liking for Rics . At first I didn’t like the short scale Longhorn , now I prefer to play short scales . Mostly gig with the Danos , and tend to play Gibsons at home . After falling hard for the Jr I picked up an SG , but find I still much prefer the Jr .
Still have the usual collection of classics people tend to acquire . I’ve been playing bars since the mid 70’s and still gig every week . But just a blue collar musician playing local mid sized bars .
I’m ok with that . Retired . And can put in personal time .
Bit of an amp nerd , but not crazy about lugging around big tube stacks . I drive and haul what I need to use . So I like modern cab design , and have found some Class D heads I love .
