So the TB+ is ideal for competing with a double bass drum and two guitars hammering out power chords in a heavy rock or heavy metal setting if you have to go for a more subdued volume live and still want to be heard and felt?   ;D

Exactly.

Or alternatively.

Mutually, but non-excluding?

Oh, whatever!

I sure hope Uwe will be able to convince CME to sell him one. I know how much he wants the chrome cover version.

I happen to love TB+ pups. I have the guitar-sized chrome ones on my FenderBird, black plastic on my LP, and I had a "peeled" black plastic with NOS 70s chrome cover on my BachBird before I sold it. All sound great. The FenderBird is one of the best sounding basses I own. Cool that they're doing a chrome version on the new bass. I'll definitely be taking a ride over to CME when they arrive. A friend just picked up the single P90 guitar version.

I wonder if they will ever use the HMS Bass Humbuckers again. They look identical to the TB+ Pickups in the Les Paul Standard Oversized Bass. The Memphis facility should be pretty much done by about now.....

Are those the ones in the Memphis ES-LP basses?

Gibson Memphis is closed.

I know the 335 Bass had guitar humbuckers. The ES-LP maybe too?

Oh good he's getting the chrome then (black plastic being non-bio-degradable and chrome, being a naturally occurring base element, doesn't need to degrade ... it's actually considered, and this is a matter of debate, an essential nutrient by some and you can buy supplement pills if you think you aren't getting enough).

Essential nutrients you say?

"And this is a matter of debate ...".

Are you now applying as a freelancer for GOOP, Jake?

Not sure. I think so.

I saw a pic somewhere with the cover off. IIRC it had a guitar humbucker bobbin but with only three holes filled on each bobbin, arranged as if it it were a 6-pole split-P pickup. The poles weren't screws. Not sure if they were magnets, or slugs with a magnet beneath. Either way, it wasn't just a stock guitar humbucker.

The ES LP had Memphis Humbuckers made specifically for this bass. They look the same as the TB+ but are a completely different animal. It may be a good option for a 335 bass or something, it would be a shame not to use them in something else.

If I was, I would not have mentioned any caveat about it being a matter of debate; gotta stay on point.

I'm confused. I definitely saw a photo of an uncovered guitar humbucker that was used in a recent Gibson bass. Now I'm not sure whether it was from the 335 bass or the ES-LP.

If you're thinking about the same picture/thread from TB that I am, that was a 335 Bass.
