I narrowly missed getting into that show - the set is available (unless I'm going bananas) with the deluxe GBMB reissue - recorded in Shepherds Bush Theatre in front of about 100 to 150 people - I saw them at Hammersmith a few months later...

He dropped out prior to the GBMB recordings as did Bob Burns - they just over-worked themselves - they did two UK tours for GBMB and the OGWT show was the only time they were ever broadcast live - reputedly it was this that really broke them and the version of Freebird remains one of the most requested songs in UK video history - a guy I worked with got lucky and got inside (lucky b*st*rd - we were both 16 at the time) ;D

ha, i jammed with bob burns once. he had just gotten out of jail for vehicular homicide i think. we were looking for a drummer and he showed up but nothing ever came of it. poor guy had way too many issues.

Hi to all you Outposters. :)

Wow, this thread has taken a few twists and turns!!!

The operation went well - not nearly as bad as I was led to believe.
Neat job.
Managed a quick noodle yesterday and went for a drive in the afternoon.
Reducing down to lesser padding today, almost back to normal.
Stitches out next Friday - Not looking forward to that!!! :-X :-X :-X

Catch up with you later.

Cheers. :)
Now a little more wiser. . . . .

That's welcome news, Eric.  Just resist the urge to do too much too fast.
