A couple of fun band names
« on: June 01, 2011, 08:57:30 AM »
I was waiting out front of the Lincoln Theater in Raleigh, waiting to go in and see Clutch, when I'm handed a flyer for an upcoming show in town:
Primus, plus special guests "The Dead Kenny G's".

That's just awesome. Back in NYC in the 90's there was a band named "Kathleen Turner Overdrive", which always made me chuckle (OK, I'm a simpleton)...

Ah, Lincoln Theater. I got drafted to run the lights for a show Saturday night. Never done it before so it ought to be interesting.

I saw a pic recently of Kathleen Turner Overdrive and the bass player had a Ripper II or an Epi Ripper or something.

I appreciate the clever names whether or not I like the band. The Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Deathray Davies come to mind.

I'm voting for my band, Vintage Winds (= "Old Farts")

Just thought of another combining-type band name: Jon Cougar Concentration Camp.
