Indeed. I like his clear example of playing a pedal note while also playing the upper notes.

I do that all the time! Helps you counter that inevitable "You're not playing the root!" argument, "Yes, I am!". "Yeah, but the melodic stuff stands out more!  "As it's supposed to do!" :mrgreen:

Latish era Jack really made that fretless Warwick Thumb his own, it was part of his signature sound and he played his most adventurous on it. Also less bending than when he played hobbits, good ole Jack could overdo it with the bending sometimes.
