Title: RIP Mo Foster
Post by: Basvarken on July 03, 2023, 07:37:55 AM
On Facebook I saw Neil Murrray post that Mo Foster has passed away.

Can't find an official news page yet.
But it's sad news nonetheless.

So many great albums he played on.
Awesome (fretless) bass melodies.

Thank you Mr. Foster.

The eulogy by Ray Russell is one of the most moving things I've read recently. I really only know of Mo from the Rotosound demo videos he made ten or so years ago. It would be interesting to delve into his discography.

That really is a beautiful eulogy.  I as well only really knew him from his Rotosound videos.  I'll have to change that.

That’s him right there, at 02:35, immaculate fretless execution of a melody written by Moore.

That’s him as well. Avec Monsieur Coverdale.

The first time I heard (of) him was back in 1980 when he played on the Michael Schenker Group debut album.
And it was the first time I ever became aware there is such as thing as fretless bass.

Here he is with a wonderful fretless bass part on Lost Horizons
