Title: Dave Davies' Flying V
Post by: Dave W on March 24, 2019, 09:08:23 PM
It's going on the auction block (https://www.gearnews.com/dave-davies-the-kinks-shindig-gibson-flying-v-up-for-auction/)

Auction preview (https://entertainment.ha.com/itm/vintage-guitars-and-musical-instruments/the-kinks-dave-davies-1958-gibson-flying-v-korina-solid-body-electric-guitar-serial-8-4643/p/7213-11001.s?ic16=ViewItem-Auction-Archive-MostPopular-Thumbnail-112917)

He never used it much, and on his old site, he didn't even list it as one of his significant guitars. Still, it's iconic, from his mimed TV appearance and a couple of album covers.

Always liked the way, how he strung it high, with his right arm through the V :)

I think that combination of the V (on the sync'd stuff) and his arm around the body certainly made them stand out.
By the way the "Modern Flying V" looks like a 1955 table in a cheap hotel.
