At first I thought she was just another publicity seeking train wreck, and the she did her bit with Tony Bennet. I liked it. I'll give her a shot. She has a good voice, she's obviously versatile and although she has yet to do anything that really pushes my buttons, I'm OK with her.

P'lod won't be stopped by a wall!

I suddenly remembered the story from the early 90s about a spaceship landing in Arkansas with an alien baby and the Clintons adopting him. That led me to this Mother Jones article from last year.  ;D

Wow, how did I miss these important facts!!??

That's right Dave, and I think that's why Trump wants to build a wall to keep out the aliens.

After last nights debate I'm pretty sure Bat Boy has this thing wrapped up , even if he would be a write in candidate.
To my knowledge, no groping incidents and I don't think he uses Email. I've heard {from a reliable source} he's friendly with a number of carrier pidgeons who take care of all his mail  issues.

The two headed baby is one to watch for the future. President and Vice President all in one package!

I'm not so sure about your boy Butch. That picture of him in the stands with the fans could do him in. I heard {from a reputable source}that he was making lewd and offensive comments to the female fans in that picture.

Butch is OK, but Bat Boy is the one with the Weekly World News endorsement and there is nothing out there to top that.

Thanks for that link Dave! I know we are not supposed to get political here but this is major news. If there were ever an election to introduce a third party candidate , this is it. Bat Boy is the man and he has  got my vote. Leave it to Weekly World news to break the story. They're the only magazine that's not afraid to print the truth, the whole truth and anything but the truth. I lost the link, if you could post it here I think everyone would love it. It could change the outcome of the election, I hope this doesn't violate the no politics rule.

That is my impression too. Not cleaner, the lows/sublows are still there, but it feels more focused. It's a mud with a twist of Pee!

I would say that is a good description.

That's no mudbucker on this bass. Looks like a T-bird pickup although there's no telling what's under that cover.

No, it doesn't look like   a mudbucker , but in my opinion Gibson put the pickup too close to the neck on both the EBO and the EB2.
With a mudbucker, I would move the pickup way back toward the bridge. With anything else I would still move it back a few inches.
It cleans the sound up considerably, particularly with mudbucker.

Never seen one, but I think the placing of the pickup is a good thing. When I was about 15 years old I had a custom EBO with the body reshaped and the pickup moved back to about the same place where this one is. In my opinion, that is the best thing you could do to an EBO. It took a lot of the bottom end mud out of the sound and provided a bit more treble bite and turned the mud into more of a growl. I had a great Jack Bruce kind of sound with that old bass. I also had a similarly equipped Epiphone that was completely stock, with the same pickup way up toward the neck, so I had a good source for a side to side comparison. In my opinion, moving the pickup back toward the bridge was a huge improvement.

The Bass Zone / Re: Sub woofers-good or bad for bassists?
« on: September 09, 2016, 03:42:39 AM »
I find it interesting that on a forum of bass players there are so many that agree that there is such a thing as too much bottom. When you get mixed in to major sub woofer bottom you lose all note definition and it makes your head hurt. If you play nothing but root notes it can allow you a real strong bottom end, and that's good , but it still makes your head hurt, and that's still bad.

Bass Amps & Effects / Re: Gigging with a house backline

Deal with the SWR if you can, although I've only played one in a store, IIRC it does have versatile mid controls. No harm in taking the Genz Benz as an emergency backup since it's so small.

That would be my plan. I'm a Genz  Benz guy myself, but SWR stuff is pretty versatile and I'm betting you can get what you're looking for out of it. I never gigged with one but I've played them in a store and I came pretty close to taking one home.

I had a 5th grade science textbook that had the formula for black powder in it. I guess they figured 5th graders were too stupid to put it to use.
Well, they were wrong. By the time I was in 6th grade me a couple buddies were freakin' experts. We thought we were geniuses until a couple of guys I played baseball with, who were in 7th grade, were making nitro glycerin. They blew out a wall at a lawyers office right next to my house. Needless to say, they got caught and I got to witness a bomb squad remove 14 coffee cans of nitro from my baseball team mates house. Both got sent away for a long time . One I never saw again. The other was in the juvy home until he was 18 and then they put him in the army and sent him to Vietnam . Yeah, in my neighborhood we blew up some stuff.
