Title: Sunburst Musicmaster
Post by: ilan on January 07, 2023, 09:03:40 AM: A refin of course, but I must say this little bass looks surprisingly nice in sunburst and tort. I don't recall seeing one in sunburst before.

Post by: ilan on January 08, 2023, 01:37:18 AM: That used to be the last vintage Fender bass model you could get for a reasonable price, until a few years ago. I had 3 and kept one. Always preferred the 77-80 ones with the Mustang neck, Mustang tuners and TV logo.

It doesn't sound very impressive solo'ed when you're sitting in front of your amp, but in a band setting it sounds excellent. I have tried flats on it and hated the result. Fresh rounds and tone at 5 make me happy. With the tone control wide open the pickup sounds too midrangey for my liking, and backing it about halfway corrects that.
