This is very inspiring. And because of the video angle you can exactly see which notes he plays, so no secrets. I think this is uite a surrealistic way to play bass and I think i'm just not ready for it. Like free jazz. It's far to difficult for me to understand.or maybe you just don't need to understand it. Well, watch, enjoy, learn.

I noticed he also does Entwistle.

He's a man of many talents.
Same camera angle so you won't miss a single beat

That was painful.
Are we sure this isn't a joke?

I hope it is a joke...
Yesterday I listened to Africa at least three times. Partly to try to understand if it is a joke or if he's really trying. Second because it's like a car crash: not nice, but you have to watch.

If it is a joke, it is true jokes along those lines have been done before. Kind of.

My memories of David Hungate's original bass runs to that song weren't quite as chromatic, but maybe I have to listen to it again. This kid certainly has a good set of ears, he finds all the notes that don't fit easily. To lend a phrase from the inimitable Sparks: "Talent is an asset ... and little Bono has it!"

Oh my, looking at the audience in that vid: America and the Maels - Californian as they were - were simply not made for each other back then. Or ever.
