I’m not exactly a fan of Trogly’s YouTube videos (can’t stand the voice).
But this April fools joke is quite elaborate!
You have to give him that.

Just speculation but Trogly probably knows about this forum and what our gripes with Gibson basses are.  This was his way of getting back at us for talking smack about him.
 I should have watched until the end about the two French guys. Still, would be nice if this provided some fruit for thought at Gibson about what's possible for their basses.

I see that it's about 10 minutes long. With Trogly, that means there's about 20 seconds of actual information. The guy is unable to be anything but a colossal bore.

It's lovingly done and worth watching every second. Recommended viewing. I hadn't read Rob's intro when I startet the vid, so I watched incredulously, but fascinated until the Victories with three-point-bridges cropped up  - that and presenting a double octave fretboard as a dedicated slap bass gave it away for me. 

My respects for the attention to detail that went into it. And I herewith grant absolution for swiping my idea to have a 60ies Rev IV done in a 'Goddess'-series 'ladyburst' fin (the 'Leon Wilkeson Signature'  ). I'm sure they drew Inspiration from this forum of fora and maybe even had a Dutch collaborator - man kann es nicht wissen ...

Ironically, it leaves a bitter taste. Some ideas were quite good. The aged satin fin NonRevs were tempting ...

If a Leon Wilkeson signature bass actually came out for real, I think I would have to buy that one.  To me that was the most interesting thing in the whole spiel.

And shouldn't a Lynyrd Skiynyrd bass be Confederate Silverburst rather than Union Blue? 



Well, I guess you could say the Goddess fin is a bit like the sky blue color of the early Confederate uniform trousers was. Before they (also) ran out of dye that is, those industrial production experts.  They really should have listened to Rhett Butler while there was time.



Gable was brilliant in that role.

BTW, Clark Gable was brilliant in just about every movie he was in.

I think most people found Wilkeson easy to get along with.  I think in real life he was pretty humble.  I never really met him, but did once catch a glimpse of him in Mississippi in the 1980s.
