I do like the second one better and I do agree that it is a good thing that we all like different stuff. My rant is half in jest. Look at the Nonreverse Thunderbird I can't tell you how many times in the past people asked why I play the ugly things. Yeah love the Destroyer!

Over here we call it a "Marmite thing!" you either love or hate something.
It's a good job we are all different, if not. . . . . .  we'd all be playing Leo's 1950's Precision.

If you read the stuff I put on the blog, I said that I liked the big pick-up surround, as I play
fingerstyle and it allows me to rest my thumb anywhere from the bridge to the neck.
This is something I can't do with my other Magnum.

I've played a couple. Not impressed, although they weren't bad and not as heavy as they looked.

I have a mint II (I think its a II - its got the 3 "EQ" sliders") I'd sell. Case, manual - #00500. Need to make space here.

There pretty stunning in their way, amazing to play acoustically. Great wood, graphite neck strip, very Alembic inspired.

As active basses from that era go, it has a natural, warm sound. Kind of as if Gibson had made their RDs from maho rather than maple.
