Chris Hadfield - Space Oddity
This is something that has somewhat highlighted the ISS and especially the Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield; somebody worth researching, if you have the time...

An introductive video of what appears to be a very humble man... I think why he has captured my imagination is the stream of pictures he has sent back from his tenure as commander of the ISS; another is that he is my age to within three months...

The present mission is his forth space flight: two Shuttle missions, a stint on Mir, and now as the ISS Commander... If you want a "grabber" then watch the second video, where he went "global" as he had helped to create a video of David Bowie's song "Space Oddity", which has had several hits...

My God... it's full of stars...

No, it's not David Bowie, and it's not Spinal Tap, but what an awesome backdrop to use for a video... hmm... must be some dust in my eye...

It started off as a Mr Spock x2 video I found quite fascinating () and then this came up so I thought why not dump it in the same thing rather than post something else up and then I changed the name to cover the second one and then I had to go to work and then I found you'd asked the question above and then I replied... that's why... ;D

Sorry, i thought it was the space singer thread and there was some kind of problem..mea culpa..

B.t.w. it's weird you're allowed to make this kind of comparison-commercials between two brands, in the States. Mercedes would have sued Audi for millions in EU

Here's one I just saw yesterday. I was amazed at how little so many of those sights have changed in almost 90 years.

Quote
Incredible colour footage of 1920s London shot by an early British pioneer of film named Claude Frisse-Greene, who made a series of travelogues using the colour process his father William - a noted cinematographer - was experimenting with. It's like a beautifully dusty old postcard you'd find in a junk store, but moving.

I have been, and always shall be, a bass player... ;D

The new film is simply stunning - probably the best of them all, imho...

I believe Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy became good friends during the making of the first film... very much father/son and the "son" has the "father" to a T...

The nod to Nimoy's "singing" career is pretty funny.

I thought that was a hoot!  Wonder how many young people have no clue what that was in reference to.

Probably as many as old people.  I didn't know what it was until the Trekkie that works for us told me.  I love Star Trek, but I did NOT follow everyone's solo efforts outside the show.
