The several I've seen around here in recent years have been in rough shape.

I had one for several years in the early 80s, I remember the control panel plastic being pretty fragile, especially around the output jack.
It got lots of compliments when I'd use it in the studio.

Nice score Scott, I'm jealous!  I have to admit I did score a late 90's Gretsch Broadkaster bass at the same store for under $600 several years ago.  Should have kept it!!!!!

Be careful Scott, the hobbits can be addicting. I played mine at the last couple gigs with the R&R group.  Sounded fantastic.

Looks Great! I never check GC any more to find anything vintage. They usually price things so high it makes their new stuff seem like a bargin. If you do score a new control plate, I still have a few .015 thick spring steel "stiffeners" left. They go under the control plate & help prevent the new plate from cracking.

Hey Scott, you haven't told us how you think it sounds!

Are you retiring your Tbirds yet?  

 I took it to rehearsal on Mon. I gave it a quick set up but I need to tweak it more. My first reaction is man is this thing heavy ! No neck dive................ more like body dive, the thing wants to slide right off my lap and head for the floor  ! I like the neck a lot, nice round profile and lots of frets ! I can get nice and high up the neck. I played it for a few songs and Like the sound, I am still playing with all the knobs and switches. I still like my NRs way better, nothing will ever replace those for me. I do hope to keep the Triumph.

If you think yours is heavy, you should try the origional '69 - '70 Les Paul Bass. It makes the Triumph feel like an EB-0.................
