You've probably seen these before, but this list has some new ones:

I know I've seen this list before because it has Little David Wilkins and this masterpiece.

Don was "Cadet Don Travis" who had a local kiddie show in Houston for several years, IIRC late 50s to mid 60s. Seymour was his space serpent buddy. A great album, I'm sure. ;) Don is the father of former kid actor Ike Eisenmann.
If you want a steady supply of album covers from great to bizarre, try the LP Cover Lover (http://lpcoverlover.com/) blog.

this one is pretty eerie too:

It was bound to happen. Heino as a subject in the Outpost. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

In Holland Heino is considered The ÜberDeutscher ;D

It was only a post... now it's a subject. You seem almost repulsed by this, Uwe. How come?

That's truly a wonderful resource, Dave. Thank you. Just as I was running out of ways to make poor use of my free time. ;D

My apologies, Uwe. I didn't mean to open an old wound. Even as a fan, I had no idea. Apparently Ritchie was able to squash this "Nur Deutschland" cover before too many were pressed. I guess the rift with Gillan started earlier than I thought...

There is an autographed copy of Roger at the vintage guitar shop in Franklin, OH on the wall.

I'm always surprised that nobody puts this one on any of those lists:

Blasphemy, death penalty in the US does have its reasons.
-
Dave... I think I'm beginning to understand Uwe's personal musical leanings - bordering on obsessive behaviour - how tall is he...? is there a "vertically challenged" issue, or megalomania...?
Uwe - "Tell me about your childhood..."
ok peeps... seek out a copy of Jo Jo Gunne's "Jumpin The Gunne" and be truly awestruck... :rimshot:

but be warned, this is only for those with a truly strong constitution... :puke:
I think I may still have this in the loft, somewhere... :o
ps
just discovered that this link has a whole bunch more to enjoy...
Heaven, just heaven...
-
Ken, we mentioned Jumping The Gunne a couple of months ago in this thread: http://bassoutpost.com/index.php?topic=1899

I most reluctantly have to admit that my dear Mother has several Heino albums.................
I'll try to withstand the ridicule..... :-[

Mark, I'm not saying it excuses everything with you, but it sure explains some things! :-*
Watching the above performance (taken at some Volksmusik TV show) I begin to realize: This man elicits excitement with elder women much like our late Führer did!
At 4.38 you can all hear what would have happened to American Civil War spirituals if, well not the Confederates, but Nazi Germany would have won ze war!

Not to worry, Mark.
The Outpost is a tolerant online community, where we celebrate and embrace...
Wait - did you say several Heino albums??
-
Sorry Uwe I didnt get to 4.38 :-X
-
He could move to Branson and fit right in with the Lawrence Welk Show. And I don't mean that in a bad way.
-
Please insert the railroad spike into my forehead now!!!!!!
My Mom really liked Heino for awhile. It was hard to take considering most of the time my folks listened to Neil Diamond, Glen Campbell etc...........Not that I really liked that so much either.
Small wonder that when I could I escaped into the world of Slade, T-Rex, Alice Cooper, and Kiss as soon as I became aware of them..............With some of Mom's clothes too ;)
-
Sorry Dave, I'll start a 0001 (as penance) over the weekend... ;)
Uwe and Bret - I jumped through to 4:38... I don't think anything will ever be the same again...
Anyone here ever read PK Dick's "Man in the high castle"...?
One final question... who came first... Heino or "Roy Batty"...?
-
Anyone here ever read PK Dick's "Man in the high castle"...?
YES! Ken. PKD's best book IMHO. I've read most of his stuff (all that I'm aware of).

Little David Wilkins is still around. I remember his mid-70s country hit "Not Tonight, I've Got A Headache."
-
I stumbled upon this today.
WOW!

-
This is SO VERY disturbing........................ ;)
-
if you can bear to look at it long enough they all could be guys. :P
-
That is just so wrong. They must have used more aquanet than any 80's hair band!!
-
If I was Jesus I'd have qualms (mis)using them. :-\
-
Beware of bringing down the wrath of G....aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....!
-
This is SO VERY disturbing........................ ;)
Hang on I'm confused.
Mark are you disturbed because Dave actually knows one of these artists music or because The Faith Tones are more scary than Freddie? .......or just disturbed generally? ;)
-

The spooky thing is - that's exactly what I was thinking!
-

I'm disturbed, no doubt about it.............
Those are girls...................... but yeah, if you look at them again they *could* be boys, their hair is really frightening - yes, I said that!
Let's just say the album's title has been said out loud by me under somewhat different circumstances ;D
-
I guess I invited that really didn't I ;D TMI Mark! :-X
-
:o thats just wrong! :o

I wanna see the "Where are they Now" of these people.
-
I think the middle one used to play linebacker for Green Bay.
-
ray nitschke. or it could be the golden boy himself, paul hornung. ;)
-
Well, if they are Catholic, I think we can deduce a few answers...
-
It's all about punctuation ;D
-
I googled them to look for any info on who they were, all I found were postings about the cover. The best comment: "Visual evidence that Tom Hanks, Eddie Izzard and Jay Leno were once a christian singing group known as the Faith Tones."
-
THAT is priceless! (Although the middle one looks more like Dan Blocker, aka Hoss Cartwright, to me.)
-
On the right... Buddy Holly in drag...? either that , or Eric Morecambe, which will mean nothing to most non Brits...
Is Paul Hornung related to Uwe...?
I was thinking the middle one looked more Russian athlete - shot put type...?
There must be something about this hairstyle... check out this link... :o :o :o

A stack of more dodgy covers are at the site I found this, also a Christian group...
One thing gents, this was the sixties... and we are poking fun at Mom, Apple Pie, and the American Way of life... someone out there may be smarting about their Mom or Gran...
-
Kenny, this is horrific:
I think the one on the left was the inspiration for the zombie movies of the past couple of decades.
-
God made the river, God made the lakes
God made the beehive, but everyone makes mistakes
-
"Guide me Lord" here we go again...... ;D
-
God made the beaver, who built their own lakes...
And Uwe plays Gibsons, and buys all their makes...
But lyrical writing, I don't really know...
So I'd best not upset him, and just let it go... ;D
Better we all stick to playing...? ;D
Mr Powell... you went the other mile an grabbed it... truly nasty... 8)
The one on the left looks like my mum, and she used to sing... :o
Bret... Mark needs no help with the innuendos... ;)
