RIP. Hope it went quick. A heart attack at 77 isn't the worst way to go. Not a bad deal if you get to trade a few years in for some extra creole and cajun cooking.

Never a healthy man at the best of times, he turned out quite durable. I saw him playing in a small Manhattan bar in 1988 - when his career was down in the dumps and it was more Dr Who? than Dr John. But he owned the place.

Rest in that voodoo world of yours.

And will those sessions with Tommy Bolin ever come out?
