Kiss-mas anyone?
« on: December 05, 2012, 05:01:06 PM »
Add some Kiss to your Christmas this year?

I used to be into Kiss in high school, starting with Lick It Up then moving backwards. Saw them live in Yokohama Japan in '88, probably the Crazy Nights tour? I'm pretty sure that the Pez dispensers are of the fake Kiss. I'm not particularly a fan of the band anymore, though I appreciate a lot of their work. Might pick up the recent Ace & Peter Criss books if I find them.

I will still pick up KISS toys here and there and my daughter will buy me small items now and then. I saw both Ace & Peter's books at Barnes  Noble the other day. Ace's is in the discount section now for less than $6.

That picture sums it up for me right there: the Kiss Pez dispenser kit available at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

I'm not a Kiss fan but at least it's healthy. Pez is one of the four food groups, you know.

I'm sure that Gene is lobbying for that as we speak.

I think it would have been good marketing strategy to put chest fur on the Paul Stanley dispenser...

I have that Gene on my tree  :P  I bought my daughter the Paul ornament that matches it. It had a LOT of painted on chest hair.

I thought Ace's book was a good read. He's seems pretty upfront about his drug use and partying ways while still coming across as a funny guy. Peter's was hard to get through right from the start. He still comes across with a chip on his shoulder. Plus, he gives a recitation of the '94 Northridge (CA) earthquake that sounds more fit for the type of quakes that resulted in the Japanese and Indonesian tsunamis. Having been through the Northridge quake, it made me wonder if every other anecdote in the book was just as exaggerated.

How come no one discusses Monster here? Am I the only one who bought it?
