Merry Christmas Everybody!

   I am going to ask a question that I thought I knew the answer to. The internet is making me second guess myself.  I've always thought that the Ripper, G3 and Grabber series all started production with alder bodies and maple bodies were introduced around 1978. 
   I'm in a discussion with a individual sitting sources (Gibson being one ) that state early Grabbers had maple bodies. Did I miss something here? Is this a case of the same incorrect source being quoted over and over again?
   Help me out I feel like I'm losing my mind.

  I'm glad he seems to be doing well, he certainly kept it under his hat. Our idols are getting old and we're not far behind them. Sobering. Jim Lea and Don Powell have been quite active lately. Jim seems to have recently discovered social media and puts out content on a regular basis.  It's nice to see what he's up to. Of course a Slade reunion will never happen to much bad blood with H and health issues.

   Classic rock has been distilled down to Led Zeppelin and Journey in the non musician public consciousness. Some of the bands listed are some of my favorites. 
   BTO, a great rock'n roll outfit they could write a great tune and slather it with distinctive vocals and rip'n guitar work. Bass could have been brought up a bit on the mix though   
   Foghat, Lonesome Dave Preverett easily one of the best voices in rock, Dave and Rod Price a great guitar combination and ton out the wazoo, some of the best sounding guitars of my young recollection. I loved bothe version of the band Craig McGregor and Tony Stevens Energized and Foghat Live are still favorites.
  Uriah Heep, While I love Heep some of thier material I find ponderous and a little trippy. Give me the hits like Stealing and Easy Living. Heep did have a big impact for a short while and are in part along with Deep Purple the reason bands al over the USA were lugging Hammond B3s into venues large and small.

  I've been on a Telecaster Bass kick latley, I love thier simplicity and the big beefy Wide Range pickup. This body had been floating around Ebay for a while and finally the price dropped to a point where I couldn't resist the BIN. Often these bodies have a added pickup route so I felt pretty lucky getting one without mods.
   The body is ash and quite light, original the yellowish vintage white it has been professionally refinished natural that has a very nice player wear patina. I may do the body in CAR or leave it as is. I'm in no rush on this, I need to gather parts, I'll probably look for a original neck and flesh the rest out when Ebayers start parting out Vintera II Tele basses.

    Honestly I am unsure. Gene states that it us a recreation of the original pickup in his EB0 just what that means I'm not sure lol. Once I get it home I'll take it apart for a look see.
