Are those pickups exactly at the both sides of regular P-pickup sweetspot? Like it seems they are on his old Frankenstein:
I thought the body was unrouted but it seems that the original P cavity is only covered up.

It's been many years since I saw the writeup on this, IIRC the pickups and placement were just like his old bass and each pickup was a separate circuit with its own preamp and battery.

Yup. The bass is a bit like an un-nasty Stingray in sound. Studio Stingray so to say.
