Is that a DiMarzio?
-
Correct Dave a Dimarzio Model G. It's going under a chrome Tbird pickup cover. ;D

Cool upgrades Scott!

But of course!

Finally got around to this bass this morning. ;D Yesterday I used silicone caulk to attach the cover to the Model G. Today was spent cutting and installing the pg, installing the tail piece, tug bar and doing the wiring. As always I love the sound of the model G. Sure makes a pretty convincing NR! My hats off to Rob for getting these done and I am proud to have had a small part in supplying info on NRs to Rob. This is the bass Gibson should have built no real reason why they couldn't. Bill and I consulted with Gibson and they ignored most of our recommendations and ended up with a dog ( imho). Rob and Bach listened to what we recommended and we got a great product.
-
That's why I have two of them!
-
Thank you guys. It was my pleasure.
I'm glad you helped me realise the dream. Without your help and participation it would never have come to life.
In the meanwhile BaCH has quit making the NR Tbirds. And they're sold out on their site.
I only have three of these left: Two Transparent Red ones. And one Pelham Blue with belly cut and custom pickguard.

Are any of the cherry ones IIs

How much?
-
€ 497

If I knew the Model G would fit under a chrome T-bird cover I would have bought the one I saw... Only 40 euros...

Holy cats! I have a new gig and I fired up the Hiwatt rig with this bass. Unbelievable this thing is going to kick some ass!
-
Haha! That's fantastic Scott. :toast:
And how do you like the cherry red one?
-
Rob I love it! It is already going through it's metamorphosis ;D
-
I have the honeyburst all set up BEAD. I didn't change out the strings the low E is a 0.104. Backed off the truss rod and everything works and sounds good. Looking forward to gigging it. The Cherry TH-1 is coming along, I am either going to put in a chrome covered Model G or Thunderderbucker Max in it. ;D

It took me a little while to get the parts together to do a 60's conversion on her but with a little twist ;) I didn't have any w/b/w pgs on hand so I went with parchment/b/p with the stamped Tbird logo. Next was one of my 60's repro tail pieces. Off ebay I bought a N.O.S tug bar and a repro pickup cover. I stuffed the cover with a Dimarzio Model G using clear silicon as a adhesive and gap filler. I was going to buy a Thundebucker Max and may still at some point but I do love the Dimarzio Model G.(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/godofthunder59/BAchcherryth-1conversion_zps27295640.jpg)
