Other Bass Brands / Plekked and ready to rock!
« on: March 25, 2009, 01:47:08 PM »
Got my 55-94 plekked at Lakland. It has been my main bass for the last four years.Started to show some fret wear, buzzes and stuff. It turned out great, the frets are like brand new and it plays better than before. My friend Leo Lopez helped me out there and he showed me around and introduced me to some of the staff, really cool people.I got to check out the black Decade they built for Pino Palladino, very nice.I didn't plug it in though. All in all a fun experience.

I'm pretty sure it's an Ovation.

I love my GK 4x12 Neo.I bet it would sound great with an Ashdown amp.I get nothing but compliments on my sound when I'm able to use it.Aguilar makes one that sounds good also.SWR used to make one but it was a beast weight wise

I posted this project last July. After much B.S. I finally got it back. The guy did a nice job just real slow.Plays and sounds great. It has the bridge from my '64 on it just shimmed up. Waiting on a new bridge from Tony Carl, hope to get it next week.Looking forward to going into the studio in a couple weeks with it.

You know I  was gonna mention Tony Thompson, his recorded sound on The Powerstation album is really good, his playing is crsp and tight, tho I guess John Taylor struggled a bit since he wasm't with the familiar confines of DuranDuran............I did not know he had passed away.......Sad.

I recall seeing a show on the recording of Power Station and Bernard was giving John Taylor some pointers.
