« on: June 13, 2010, 03:44:10 PM »This it what it should look like.This is what I saw after I opened up the pickup cover on my '64 reverse. A wire had broken off while putting it back together after a refin job in the '70s. So I pulled the backplate off and that is what was there.The pickup needed rewinding so my guy supposedly sent it to Gibson for a rewind.

I almost fell over when I saw this. It plays and sounds fantastic. Sorry I have my arm over the front of the bass but you can imagine how nice it is. Mike does great work. It is one of best I have seen from him.

They put a clear coat over the whole thing after the fretboard was painted.

I saw this in a store a while back and wanted to get a pic of it.Then I found it on Luthier's Access Group site.Interesting.They just painted over the fret board.

« on: May 05, 2009, 07:49:07 PM »I saw them pretty close up on the Argus tour, with Flash opening. They were great. It was the first time I ever saw someone play slide guitar sideways. Ted Turner put his Strat on what looked like an ironing board to play slide on it.I believe that is a show from the same tour that I saw.Was that in Chicago?

Lucky you.I hope they make it to Chicago sometime.I saw the original lineup in the seventies then in the early eighties with Trevor Bolder on bass. Just like gweimer he is the reason I'm a Bird lover.
