This year I listened a lot to The Raconteurs. I love the songs, sound and especially the bass sound and lines. I also like the bass player of the Kings of Leon.

Instrumental? As always Almost Grown by The Small Faces.

Coupla Cincinnati boys made good with The Raconteurs.  The rhythm section came from local band The Greenhornes.  The new album is on my Christmas list.

Don't know that I have a current fave in either category right now.  As far as instrumentals, over the past couple years, I've favored:

"Dangerous Curves" - King Crimson

"Here Come The Warm Jets" - Eno

"The Sun Road" - Bozzio, Levin and Stevens

Sparks - Dick Around

One of the most astounding musical pieces I've heard in a long time and this is just the much shortened vid version, the original takes about a quarter of an hour.

I find this irresistible too:

And the incredibly titled: "Lighten up Morrissey"

Some odd choices here. Please post links if you can find 'em.
Here's some of yours:

Chris P's----Small Faces~ Almost Grown:

gweimer's fav Bozzio Levin Stevens:

The Sun Road ain't on youtube so I put my fav BLS song.    8)

I can't get enuf BUSH these days! heh Kate, that is.
Can't stop listening to her & Ho Ho Hoey.
Anyone buy Fillmore Blues? It's got some noise on it but I don't care much.
It's very Hendrixesque.
