Daddy's latest acquisitions

Just got this bass today!I fell in love with it the first time i saw it.late 72 4001 in custom Sparkley finish.She's got a few changed parts but she's a player!! and thats all that matters.

yeah,Its a standard 72 4001.Neck thru,checker binding,full width crushed pearl inlays :)

Just sealed the deal on this beauty two hours ago.I traded my 74 jazz bass for it.March 72.pre skunk stripe,old style pehead with walnut wings,long guard.Pro refret and non original guard.All else is there. Original case too.

reeeeaalll interesting. Early Rick 4000 basses had set necks. Some were routed for the neck pickup at the factory and shipped out as 4001S basses.

This one has the full width inlays though. I've never seen a set neck 4001 with deluxe features.

Its not a set neck.Its a regular 4001.It has a black pinstrip at the heal.Optical illusion.The guard on the 72 is a cheesy one thats for sure Ilan.But i have already rectified that situation :mrgreen:
