Are the SD ones noticeably different from the originals? That is, would it be worth replacing a working set of originals to achieve some tonal objective, or is it just a dead/missing pickup replacement strategy?
They are supposedly great sounding pups and much more powerful than the original pups. Funny though, the SDs are replacements for the early 2-screw Ripper pickups, not the later 3-screw designs.There are two, original early pups on eBay for BIN $279 each. This is too much to justify if the SDs are only a few dollars more.
That was you that got the two for $150? That's a much more sensible price.Aren't the SDs $160 each?
