Title: EB-3 early Bridge and Tuners Needed! (Help Needed with Parts Question)
Post by: dc10bass on December 29, 2008, 01:53:02 PM
Group...

I have a 1962 Gibson EB-3 that is missing the Bridge and (4) Tuners.

Gibson bass bar bridge - First Version.
Part number BR-655N (Nickel)
With straight, thin mounting arms.

I currently have two of the following bridges, but want to use the correct "year appropriate" model;
Gibson bass bar bridge - Second Version.
Part number BR-655CH (Chrome)
With curved mounting arms.

Does anyone know if the two bridge mounting posts and spacing is the same
for the First & Second Version bridges?

Kluson 538 'elephant ear' tuners

If anyone has any of these they would like to sell, or a lead on where to find them,
I would really appreciate!

THANKS!!!

If you want to get rid of that 'wrong' bridge, please PM me!

Yes the two are interchangeable (I should mention that on the page really) - however these early nickel ones are not nearly as available as the chromes....

The fact is a 100s of Kalamazoo KB1 basses have been parted out, and so the chrome version is widely available - nickels were rarer to start with, and generally needed. I think I currently need two (where I am making do with the second type)
