Title: These Might Make a Nice project for Someone Into The Dead ;0)
Post by: MARICOPAA on April 25, 2008, 05:55:53 PM
Hey guys...I came across these on a recent search. I thought they might make for a great project for somebody into Alembic's, Alemicized Guilds or The Grateful Dead:

All you need is a trashed Starfire, and away you go.  It is a pretty rare thing to find the set of coils together without an old Alembic wrapped around them.

Man, I would kill for those.  Of course, I don't have $500 burning a hole in my pocket and I'm not very close to SF.

They would go well, though, in this slightly Alembic influenced aluminum neck project that I'll be building this summer:

(pretend it has strings, frets and real tuners)

You still need the $1000 preamp to go with those.

I'd bet you could cook up something for less at Radio Shack.

You can and I have but Radio Shack components aren't quite up to the standards Alembic builds by.   ;)

Radio Shack's electronic components are garbage. we use them at work from time to time and they have a high failure rate.

Frye's has now surpassed them for drive N get it stuff.
