Gonna be cheeky here with the first one as you've pretty much covered the names I would have suggested...

Berry Oakley had a great voice but only recorded one with him singing with the Allmans...

and how about Randy Meisner, a very distinctive singer and no slouch on the bass...

I was looking through to see if anyone mentioned Peter Cetera, he doesn't get his dues often, he was one of the greats and did sing lead quite a bit unlike many of the people posted here. He has a great voice and was one of the top bassists back then, had a great P bass and later Gibson sound, was also one of the greatest pick style bassists. I have heard that he has again picked up the bass.

I like Cetera too, but someone should have broken his fingers when he started to play keyboards. Would have been better for Chicago too. He played an EB-3 and later on a Ripper, his endorsement pic with a natural Ripper is perhaps the most famous Ripper ad.

I mentioned John Waite earlier in this thread.
Yesterday I met him. Stonefly was support act and they used our gear.
I spoke to John very briefly. He immediately spotted my Gibson Triumph.
I asked him about the Zemaitis and he told me he used to have two, but one got stolen. He still treasures the other one.

He doesn't seem to have aged too much. His voice is still great.
His band was still trying to find their feet, but altogether it was a pretty good concert.
A lot heavier than I had expected from his last -mainly acoustic- albums.
John didn't play any bass. He did play some guitar on his acoustic, at the sound check and a song or two during the gig.

John Doe (X) and Craig Bloxom (Spy V. Spy)
John Doe's voice is just amazing, and Bloxom could belt it out with the best of 'em.

2 of my all-time favorites.  Actually, going to see X tomorrow night in Chapel Hill, NC.

He was on the cover of Bass Player magazine sometime last year. Great article - should have been longer. When you start listening to Chicago's early stuff you become acutely aware of what a great player he was/is. I'd like to see him put out something new with him on bass...

Chicago was incredible instrumentally - super tight, right on the money all the time...and the bass lines were excellent.

I saw Chicago and the Doobie bros. last summer at Fiddler's Green in Denver; they were/are touring together.  Aug. 1 I'm going to see ZZ Top and Santana there!!

What a great clip, he has that great sound right out of the box too. Was Cetera touring with Chicago again and hopefully playing bass? I'd definitely go see them, those guys could play.
