You are not the only one who's been waiting for quite some time...
This is the first time it takes them so long to get here.

Yes, you're in for a treat.  I finally figured out the ergonomics of mine.  With a bad shoulder, it's been kind of a chore to play the Bird much.  My wife and I watched STP in Chicago on cable last week, and I decided to alter my method a little.  Borrowing from Robert DeLeo, I decided to bring the bass back and to the side, and held the neck higher.  Voila!  Much better.  I used it for a set with the new band on Saturday.  Beast, I tell you, beast!  It's going to be in the rotation more.

hopefully any day now.....   haven'thgeard back from the shipping compny since i paid my duty....

I have actually installed the ebay artecs in a project bass i have. Bass came from a guy in brazil making boutigue knockoffs sans hardware and electronics.  I have a bunch of them if anyone is interested as i will never get to them all and they cost me around 300 each.  Back to the pups -    these are blades too but i don't think they are alnico magnets.  i put 3 way switches on each.

my review - single coil - way too low out put and very noisy unless both volumes up full in humbuck like  a  j bass;  parallel - good sound - clearer and softer than the barts took out to try these;  series  - clearly this is what they were made for   - in your face HB sound and less dark than the barts.  my favorite sound is the neck pickup in parallel  and bridge in series - nice boost in bridge sound but with some added deep tone.  Kind of like the early lakeland sound if you left the preamp flat.

That's peculiar. The Artec in my BaCHbird can be switched to single coil too (with a push/pull pot). But it is not noisy at all. And it isn't weaker either. In fact in single coil mode the sound opens up a bit and seems to give me a little bit more highs and lows.

Maybe they sold you a "monday morning" one?

Or maybe the re-wiring wasn't done correctly?

I am usually pretty good with wiring stuff.  These have the same wire colors as a bart and i used the stew mac diagram.  One thing i did was go with the outside coils versus the inside to get more distance....  This however should not have made a difference.  On a pbass it does as one coil is the lead ( d, g)  but i don't think that is the case in HB.  also if that was the case the bridge pup in single coil would have been much louder.  When i get a chance i will probably unhook one switch and hot wiring the single coil to the jack to see if the volme change much.  any other ideas out there????

i used the diagram 4 and 5 on this page (reversed to get the outside coils only)

Just had the pots and output jack on my TH-1 replaced with CTS pots and while the difference is noticeable and definitely improves the sound, the change was much more noticeable on the TH-2. The sustain increased A LOT. Because I haven't had time to do it myself because of work, it was immensely satisfying to pick it up at the shop, plug it in an try it out. No one had seen anything like it before and a small crowd were standing around staring at it. It rocked!
