That's fantastic news on the new bass delivery!
I'm still of the belief that they are shipping basses as each one is finished.
I can't believe that they blasted out 50 or so basses and are now taking their time in shipping them.
Maybe they just wanted to get the first basses in people's hands as soon, and as uncomplicated as possible, hence not shipping to
us yanks first?

I've checked and re-checked The Bach site over and over. And I've come to the conclusion that the € 160 the company demands for the Bird is a strange figure. For that is right? €160?
The bridge and tailpiece for the same bass stops at € 62,5 in their own catalogue on the net. Now, isn't there something weird if the rest of the bass, including body, mechanics, pickup, neck, and electronics, then should stop at only € 97,5?
Just noticing. Nothing that I hold against our little adventure, which I hope will be a lovely trip.

I'm not sure if I understand what you're saying Staffan?
Do you think it's too cheap?

Oh no, oh no! Well, to be honest... Yes... It's very cheap. But not too cheap, for Gods sake!
But my point is that it's strange to have a bridge/tailpiece at €62,5 when the whole bass is €160,0. I mean, it's almost like some of the other stuff on that bass, tuners, pickup, or something else, comes as a bonus!! Comprende? I think it's great, of course!

I'm not sure, but my guess is that this is a way for BaCH to compensate the developers cost of the bridge.
As you can see in the picture of the saddles on the seperate bridge are notched. Maybe they got the complete series in from their Korean manufacturer and then discovered they were notched. So they're trying to sell them.

I never asked them to build these bridges. When the project started I asked for a standard 7ender type bridge.
But at a certain point they asked me for the dimensions of the original Gibson bridge and detailed pics etc. So I just kept my mouth shut and provided them with all the information they asked me.
They even tried to make a chromed clone of the pickup, but that turned out to be too expensive for this project...

In that case it could be that Bach only got 50, at most, of these bridges. Which, in turn, means they might be gone before too long. And we all know how hard they are to find! Maybe it's time for some drastic economic extavaganzes! And a time to look into the future, and coming projects! Banzai...!!!

Maybe they're doing one country at the time. The Netherlands were first. Then Sweden.
Now our Belgian friends are next. On a Dutch forum they're telling me they've received an invoice from BaCH.

Yes, one country after another. A trusted recipe. Netherlands today, tomorrow the world.

Just got an email from BaCH after I sent them a furious email about never replying any of my emails:

I am very sorry - busy , fearful
Why ? I was not 100% open to You beecause We didn´t believe in such
demand of BaCH TH-1 and We made 20 pcs only  . . . to limit a drug. Uwe's snide edit: Perhaps he means "unlimited drugs"?
The rest of 30 pcs should be finished next month .
Rob I do a very big respect to You .
If You can make a pardon on me .
I have been very busy and under stress with the "shity" business.

We will finished them 10 pcs white , 10 pcs black , 10 pcs blue sonic.
I have sent some mails to the guys.
This week We are sending last two guitars to Holland and Belgium.

Yours sincerely ,
                 Roman

BaCH Music , Czech

Can you believe it!? ???

The colour choice eludes me. I never asked them for that.
Now they have a huge problem if people would rather stick to the white one.
Or rather have one in red, or green or...etc

I'd prefer a white one, so my other 3 friends that I have order for them. Its better to send him an email to finish all of the rest basses in white Rob.
Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.

If I had a choice, I'd take blue before black, but whatever color I'll take it.

It was wrong to ever heartlessly and prematurely curtail our largely efficient and benevolent administration of that country and leave these people to their own devices, sigh.  ;) Reminds me of the late Queen Mum's general comment on former Black-African dominions, a PC unadulterated observation I might add: "These poor people haven't done very well for themselves since we are no longer taking care of them, have they?"

But before everyone despairs now: As this thread amply tells, those basses do get made (not to exact specifications but still impressive and well-sounding we hear) eventually and you'll always have something to tell your grandchildren about. If anybody wishes to bow out for color reasons, I'll gladly take his place. I don't really need a replica non-rev, but the ups and downs of how these basses have come into existence has meanwhile endeared them to me. Rather than Bachbird, we should christen them "Rob's Blood, Sweat & Tears"-Birds!
