I don't think it has blades, most likely steel rods with alnico magnet behind the rods.
Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.

BaCH ensured me it's an AlNiCo bar.
so I guess it's the MDA4N

Cover: plated plastic
Pole pieces: steel bar
Bobbin: plastic
Bottom: epoxy
Color options : sv, gd
MDA4N, MDA4B (Alnico bar)

Of course Gibson controls don't fit the smaller shafts of cheap pots. But today I remembered I had two mirror caps of an Epi EB0 somewhere. One of them is a bit broken, but you can;t see that. Here are two pics. I know I put volume on tone and tone on volume, but I don't care. Never use 'm;)

Wowie zowie! What a delightful trip this've been! Even though I still have not heard a word from Bach, the flag's spinning around it's poole. Around and around, as Mr Berry once put it!

Took the BaCHbird to rehearsal last night.
Great reactions from the band.

Playing the BaCHbird is hard work. Without any doubt the least ergonomical bass the I own. Heavy and neckheavy. And to make things worse the lower regions are really almost out of reach. So your left hand sort of gets tired after a while.
But none of that comes as a surprise. That is just how the Non Reverse Thunderbrid was designed...

The sound is good. I cuts through and is "there".
The BaCHbird does not have that typical "mid growl" or "bark" that my other Tbird does have (a Greco). But maybe that one sounds more seventies rather than sixties.

I am most definitely going to install a second humbucker. Now don't get me wrong: the Artec humbucker really does a great job. But I happen to be a fan of the sound of two humbuckers.

Tonight I placed an extra strapbutton on the neck heel, just past the joint (at the 15th fret). No more neck dive!

I used the bass with Boilersuit last night. My three piece band. And she sounds nice there too!! Very warm and great for all those melodic walks.

Of course I'm used to a neck diving bird and I had no problems with it. It dives but I don't mind. The acces to high notes is great, but tuning is bad. I almost can't reach the G-tuner:)

It does sound much better with mirror caps.

They can fire me, silence me, and shut me down, but they'll never stop the chrome!

NR birds are long ! you get used to it at least I have. I have long arms so it's not much of a problem for me. every time I get a NR I move the strap button to the heel of the neck, it helps but does not eliminate neck dive. Again you get used to chasing the headstock around stage.
