1966 Cherry Red NR Thunderbird II Bass
« on: October 02, 2011, 07:26:43 AM »
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-Gibson-Thunderbird-Bass-single-pickup-no-offset-very-good-condition-/260862717042?pt=Guitar&hash=item3cbca12c72#ht_500wt_1187

I've emailed this guy several times last week with questions and he has not replied. He's about 1/2 Hour to 45 minutes North of me in the North Chicago suburbs. I don't think he has a clue about answering emails or Ebay. I asked If I could see it and if it had been broken. Looks pretty clean so far but who knows? But with 0 feedback......Anybody else try to contact this clown?

Saw the listing a few days ago, figured you'd be on the case.  Very possible he's an honest guy IMO.  There ARE a lot of guys who are internet inept.

I am often stunned by the incompetence of people who use Ebay.  It's a great illustration of how some people are not born to be salesmen, and/or have no talent for communication.

A $3500 instrument and he can only find 21 words to describe it - four of which are simply nomenclature.

Zero feedback seller, probably just needs more experience. OTOH even with Paypal protection I'd hesitate to buy anything expensive from a zero feedback seller.

I was thinking about  cashing in a 401k for it but don't think I'll have much luck. This guy is not returning any emails. Go for it.

I think I'd want an escrow arrangement to buy something like that.  Too many unknowns.

No response to my emails either. ??? Joe IF I were to buy this could you pick it up and ship it to me ? I have made arrangements I can come up with the dough. I am real leary of this 0 feedback, one picture and no reply to emails. Thats a lot of red flags.

Absolutely. One Main thing I have learned about shipping birds; I would remove the tuners, though as it has less stress on the headstock. Make sure the headstock is NOT touching the bottom of the case and is NOT moving inside the case. I pack T birds REAL good. But this Bozo is not returning ANY emails.
