What is the going rate on a fret job?
« on: September 11, 2008, 03:47:42 PM »
This would be for a vintage Fender, so not a case of buying a new neck is cheaper.  Also, previous owner somewhere along the line did a real amateur fret job, so there will be some prep work involved to the board.  No hard core damage, just a few slot chips and maybe cleaning or filling slots to make up for it.  What do you expect?

$75 - $100 in my area, depending on the damage repair required. I'm also assuming no fret replacement.
I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

Cool.  I have been getting the impression of somewhere between $100 and $200 depending on where you are and how much competition.
