I only visit Talkbass when someone here links to a thread over there. Back in the Pit days, I'd occasionally visit, and I remember the Schroeder threads. Bandwagon jumpers making performance claims way beyond the specs that Schroeder published. It's no surprise to me that they've moved on to the next big thing.
Nothing new. Back in the late 90s on the old TBL mailing list, the cabinets du jour were the Acmes. They were apparently low efficiency cabs, the builder said they needed plenty of wattage, but posters would make ridiculous claims that contradicted him. They were the best cabs ever. Then a few weeks later they would be up for sale.
All this is typical of bandwagon jumpers everywhere, not just in bass gear.
