Title: Mosrite Celebrity I Question

Hi,

I know a Mosrite Celebrity I for sale. Any ideas on these basses? How do they compare to Guild Starfire's for instance?

I'm not a Starfire fan but I'd much rather have a Starfire than a Mosrite Celebrity.

Ask drbassman about his recent experience. He sure dumped it quickly. I think he parted it out.

The one I have in mind is the 30" scale, and not the guitar like scale version.

He got his money back on the 24" scale one (after winning his Paypal dispute) but then he bought one with a 30" scale. IIRC he kept it less than three months. Just didn't have the tone.

Dave's correct. I had a 24" and 30" Celebrity. I sent the 24" back to the seller for a refund.   I tried to get the 30" to sound good, but it was a very unimpressive bass. the pickups were weak,  had no real bottom end and were generally thin.  I had a Starfire and it definitely was a better sounding bass.  I frankly don't recommend the Celebrity.

Thanx for the help. I decided not to buy it, but go after -the for me ultimate- another semi-hollow instead.
