probably the most amazing (or stupid) idea for a song I ever had
« on: December 10, 2008, 07:29:44 PM »
for a while now I have been tinkering with the idea of making a road song one that describes the many miles, the being away from home or in another setting of leaving home forever but constantly being reminded of home.

And the first lyric that came to mind was "The bugs on my windshield spell out your name."

When I told my best friend about it he laughed and told me that it was a stroke of genius if I went ahead with it.

So what do you guys think of it?

So the next thing to do is to put a set of chords in audio format in this thread and get people to post the next vocal line.
Each person limited to one line?   just a fun idea?

Here's one for ya--from almost 30 years ago:

Winter is here again oh lord,
Havent been home in a year or more
I hope she holds on a little longer

Sent a letter on a long summer day
Made of silver, not of clay
Ive been runnin down this dusty road

Wheel in the sky keeps on turnin
I dont know where Ill be tomorrow
Wheel in the sky keeps on turnin

Ive been trying to make it home
Got to make it before too long
I cant take this very much longer
Im stranded in the sleet and rain
Dont think Im ever gonna make it home again
The mornin sun is risin
Its kissing the day

(chorus)

Wheel in the sky keeps on turnin
I dont know where Ill be tomorrow
Wheel in the sky keeps on turnin

Good idea, but let's get it started without music.
Blazer's got that great opening line:
Quote from: Blazer
The bugs on my windshield spell out your name
Not sure where I am, every hotel looks the same

I want the chorus!
Wheel on the bus keeps on turnin'
We'll empty the toilet tomorrow
Wheel on the bus keeps on turnin'
Pull over and pick up that skank ho
If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter
