Congrats to Cesar.

Why did JC step down?

Good question, but hopefully he'll bring back some left-handed bass options.

Congrats to Cesar.

Why did JC step down?

JC is a corporate turnaround guy. He was the face of Gibson stabilizing it and guiding it through the bankruptcy and after. He's probably going on to greener pastures.

I've had the feeling that Cesar was the actual operations guy.

This popped up, haven't watched it yet.

I had the same idea about Cesar.

What strikes me is that JC doesn't get mentioned. Normally you'll read something like: 'We'll thank JC for years of....'

I will watch the Casino vid now. I like those guys and I often watch their vids.

I should have posted that here too , thanks Rob. I wanted to read several news releases to get a better overall sense of things. It gives one the impression that the changeover is without rancour.
At least I certainly hope it is. I thought Curleigh had done a great job of turning things around. I do realize most of Gibson’s financial woes were from over expansion and that their guitar business was solid , despite the complaints of quality control.
Maybe Gueikian will make more basses.

Well, he does have my book.
And so does Jim DeCola.
Let’s hope it will be an inspiration for them. 😎

So...will we see more new Slash model guitars? Will Mark Agnesi still be around? Inquiring minds want to know.

Seriously, hopefully more basses.

Hopefully he's not inspired to reissue the Flying V Bass - there's one hanging behind him in the pic. That's something that should be kept in a closet, out of view - and earshot.

Isn't a Flying V being tongued about in cooperation with Gene S.?

As was a left-handed Thunderbird. ¯\_(?)_/¯

In essence a Reverse for reverse people. Shouldn't that make it a Non-Reverse?

They did left-handed Reverses in 2013 and 2018. My guess is that Gene's Thunderbird isn't selling that well so they're hesitant to bring out new models.

The V is a simple slab body without binding , fancy inlays , or carved top or contours.
They should do an Epi version.

But the GS branding on it could make it a harder sell.

I'd reissue the Victory bass with a mahogany body.

That reminds me of a joke one of my NYC law firm partners once told me:

Smith, Miller & Rosenkatz

... have this hugely profitable law firm in NYC together, Rosenkatz is generally seen as the heavyweight in the firm with a roster of very major clients. He puts in long hours.

One Saturday, the Rabbi finally takes him to the side and asks him:
"Rosenkatz, I don't understand this ... We all know that Smith's drinking is out of hand and how Miller spends his days on the golf course when he is not cheating on his wife with the female associates and staff of the firm. You do all the work all the time, yet your name is listed last only after the ones of these Gojim, an alcoholic and a womanizer! It just isn't fair. Why isn't it Rosenkatz, Smith & Miller?"

Rosenkatz smiles wrily, thinks for a second and then beams: "All my clients read from right to left!"

Glad you liked it, needless to say my NYC partner was/is Jewish!
