I always had this question on my mind. If I just flip the magnet polarity of a single coil pickup, and connect its wires the opposite way (make the ground hot and vice versa) I would have create a rw/rp pickup? Or I will make an out-of-phase pickup?

The Bass Zone / Strings for 5ths tuning

I'm thinking of tuning one of my basses to 5ths like a cello (CGDA), does anyone knows what strings should I use?
I will look to buy single strings, maybe a 120-90-60-30 set or something?

Well some (geetard) friends from a Greek music forum start jamming on one cool backing track and I decided to join. With my Epi Tbird ofcourse!

My take is the last 30 seconds, I use a DOD FX17 wah, the bridge pickup, an DigiTech RP80 effect processor and a behringer bass overdrive and compressor.

Gibson Basses / Epi Tbird pickups

Well today I was feeling kinda bored, so I decided to check my Epi pickups with my multimeter.
Imagine my surprise when I saw about 6,85K ONLY on each pickups! I thought it had some hothothot pickups, but 6,85 is kinda vintagey...

It's one of the few fenderoids I like, and if it has the "right" (=mud) sound, maybe I'll start saving,,,

I'm about to rewire my Epi Tbird, what pots do you suggest? Probably 500k? And what about caps, .22 or .47?
